With participant assets and retirement security on the line, cybersecurity weighs heavily on many retirement plan sponsors’ minds. While the recently issued cybersecurity guidance from the DOL provides a roadmap to help prevent against cyber threats, the heightened emphasis indicates that cybersecurity will likely remain a DOL focus for years to come.

In this webinar CAPTRUST Financial Advisors Frank Pyles will discuss:

    • DOL cybersecurity guidance and its impact on plan sponsors
    • Effective approaches to evaluate and monitor plan providers
    • The future of information security in the retirement plan space

Prior to joining CAPTRUST, Frank spent more than fifteen years with Vanguard, where he held the position of Regional Director for Defined Contribution Retirement Solutions. It’s hard to believe that it has been 20 months since the beginning of the pandemic. And it may be even harder to believe that 401k plans have not only survived, but in many ways have thrived. In this session Mike Malone and TJ Arcuri of SageView Advisory Group will cover some of the more noteworthy highlights over that time from the viewpoint of both the plan sponsor and plan participant.

Mike Malone is a Managing Director at SageView Advisory Group. Prior to this, Mike was the founder and managing director of MJM401k, a retirement consulting firm that was acquired by SageView in 2021.

Mike is a Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) with the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA) and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst™ (AIFA®). Mike was the 2011 recipient of the 401(k) Advisor Leadership Award, a national award sponsored by Morningstar, Inc. and ASPPA. He is a past-President and a past board member of the Western Pension & Benefits Council (WP&BC) and was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by that organization in 2008. He is also a member of various other employee benefits professional groups.

For over thirty-five years, Mike has been a frequent author and lecturer throughout the U.S. at industry conferences on the various plan design and plan investment aspects of pension and retirement plan arrangements and has provided expert testimony to the ERISA Advisory Council at the Department of Labor. His plan consulting experience began with work on some of the first 401(k) plans in the country and has continued since then covering hundreds of corporate clients and tens of thousands of plan participants.

TJ Arcuri is a Retirement Plan Consultant co-leading SageView’s practice in Phoenix, Arizona. He provides retirement and fiduciary advisory services to plan sponsor clients, specializing in collaborating with retirement plan sponsors to offer cost-effective, high-value retirement programs in the defined contribution, defined benefit and non-qualified plan space. TJ was recognized nationally as a Top Retirement Plan Advisor Under 40 by the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) in 2021.

Prior to joining SageView, TJ was a Senior Institutional Relationship Manager at Vanguard, supporting some of Vanguard’s largest and most complex retirement programs. Between his time at Vanguard and SageView, TJ has worked with retirement plans for over 14 years and has a deep understanding of both the investment and recordkeeping sides of retirement plan management.

TJ holds a B.S. in Finance and minor in Economics from the University of Delaware, and an MBA from Arizona State University with a dual emphasis in Finance and International Business. He is also an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) and a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®).
